Autumn 2 Homework

Half-Termly Project

Please see below for the children's half-termly project based on our topic 'The Victorians'. This is due: Monday 14th December.

Week 6 Homework

Grammar (due Friday 11th December)

This week, the children have been given two pieces of grammar homework rather than reading homework. This can be found on purple mash:

- Dan's Screen - this looks degrees of possibilities using adverbs

- Anna and the Trampoline - this looks at degrees of possibilities using modal verbs

 

Spelling (due 9th December)

No spelling homework this week

 

Maths (due 14th December)

Two activities on Purple Mash:

- Multiplication Facts

- Division Facts

 

Children to try Times Tables Rock Starts

Week 5 Homework

Grammar (due Friday 4th December)

This week, the children have been given two pieces of grammar homework rather than reading homework. This can be found on purple mash:

- Magic School - this looks at relative clauses

- Story Snaps - this looks at parenthesis

 

Spelling (due 9th December)

Spelling rule for the week:

Revision of 'shun' sounds - sion, -tion, -ssion

 

The children will be given a list of verbs that must be changed to nouns by adding the correct 'shun' sound. This has been given to them in their homework books.

 

Maths (due 7th December)

One activity on Purple Mash:

- Identify common factors, common multiples and prime numbers.

Week 4 Homework

Reading (due Friday 27th)

The children have been given a short text about Florence Nightingale with comprehension questions to answer.

 

Spelling (due 2nd December)

Spelling rule for the week:

Endings that sound like 'shun' - ssion

Maths (due 30th November)

Two activities on mathletics:

- multiples

- factors

Week 3 Homework

Reading (due Friday 20th)

The children have been given a short text about Victorian Toys with comprehension questions to answer.

- travel graphs

- Using Timetables

Week 2 Homework

Children in Need Task (due Friday 13th)

Design or make a face covering for Pudsey to wear.  This could be a physical home made face covering or a drawing of one.  We we will vote as a class for the best three entries. Winning entries will earn house points.
