To all of the parents and year 6 children
I have spent this evening opening all of your generous gifts and reading all of your incredibly kind words whilst holding back a few tears! From the bottom of my heart, thank you parents for all of your support that you have given me and your children this year and all of the years in the lead up to now. We see how much of a difference it makes to the children when they have your support at home - they would not be where they are now without you!
A huge thank you to all 32 of my year 6 class this year. You are the first class I have had the opportunity to teach twice and I feel so privileged that I have been able to spend two years watching you grow into the kind, caring and understanding young people that you are. We have had some touch and go moments this year but also so many laughs, interesting discussions and debates especially about current affairs! I was very touched by all of your kind words in my cards and as much as you say I have made a difference to your time at St Gildas, you have made a huge impact on my time so far at St Gildas. It has bought me great pleasure in seeing how hard you have worked this year to achieve your very best, not just academically but socially too. You are all very special children who are a real credit to your parents - I’m pretty certain they are incredibly proud of you just as I am. Continue being the brilliant young people that you are in your next adventures. St Gildas has been so very lucky to have you and it won’t be the same without you!
Even though you are moving onto new adventures, we are all still here for you at St Gildas if you ever need us. Please come back and see us to tell us all about how you’re getting on! Thank you for being amazing this year and have the best summer!
p.s Theo, I’ll be keeping an eye out for when you end up playing for YTFC (hopefully back in the Chamionship by then) and I’ll hold you to your promise of that season ticket!!! I also have no idea how you all managed to do your thumb prints on Theo’s gift without me knowing or finding out - well done to you all for keeping that a secret!
