As you looked at i-e in phonics yesterday, please can you write 2 sentences. What you like about being at home and what you do not like. Please remember to write on the lines like the example below as it helps the letters to be a consistent size to each other. ( Use a ruler to draw some lines if you do not have lined paper.)

04.05.20

Please continue with the phonic lessons online.

We do not know when we are returning to school but I know I haven't been writing as much as normal and my handwriting is not good. Please get your children to write a sentence a day at least, preferably on lined paper,  to help them focus on their handwriting.

This is the Nation's toast to the heroes of WW2 that we can drink to at 3pm on 8th May.

"To those who gave so much, we thank you."

I think this would be wonderful if it was written out by your child and stuck in your window. This message of thanks applies to the war heroes and current day heroes still working to keep us safe.

Please send us photos if you make a poster for your window and we'll see how many we get!

27.04.20

20.04.20

Please continue to use the talk for writing work that is below.

This is a link to a phonics lesson that you can join in with on youtube. It is by the phonics school that we will be working closely with in the future. There will be 3 a week - I suggest Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so that you can practise some more if your child struggles. This week looks at ay, ou and ie.

Phonics work will also still be on purple mash but this link is more like a lesson that your child has in school. (Cut and paste)

16.04.20

Copy and paste the link below.

www.talk4writing.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Y1-Unit.pdf

This link takes you to a weeks worth of English. It is based around a story that you can listen to. You DO NOT need to print all of it! (18pages)

Listen to www.soundcloud.com/talkforwriting/sidney

or read the story together and each day do one activity such as the quiz or rewrite letter with punctuation. You can print a page or write answers on any paper you have. There are some lovely activities and some yummy biscuits you can decorate if you have the ingredients!!

This should keep you going next week and I will be putting daily phonic activities on purple mash again from Monday.

09.04.20

www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYa6OLQHrEc

Caterpillar shoes is a rhyming story involving lots of different bugs.

You can write some sentences too. We had some super short stories about snails!

03.04.20

As we are learning about snails ask the children to write any other words that have the diagraph ai. ai as in snail

Can they write any sentences about a snail or even a short story?
