Age restrictions
Fri 23 Oct 2020Friday 23rd October
It has been brought to my attention that there has been some inappropriate use of social media. Could I please remind all parents that social media apps have age restrictions for a reason and all parents should be checking their child's accounts regularly to ensure they are being used safely.

COVID symptoms
Fri 11 Sep 2020Please remember if your child is ill and you are reporting this we will be asking questions about the symptoms. If your child is showing symptoms of COVID we will be requesting the family self isolate for the appropriate time or until a negative test is reported. Please do not contact school without details of the temperature. If a child is reported to have a 'fever' or 'temperature' we will presume this is a symptom and refuse admission back to school until we have proof of a negative test result or the end of the isolation period, please do not be offended by this.
Main symptoms
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature) 37.8C or greater
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

Friday 17th July
Fri 03 Jul 2020Friday 17th July will be collection day in school. If children haven't been attending parents can come on to the school site and collect their child's things. Each class will be given a specific time slot:
Year 1 10.30am - 11.30am
Year 2 12 - 1pm
Year 3 1.30pm - 2.30pm
Year 4 3pm- 4pm
Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 + siblings will be delivered by school staff.
If you are unable to attend during these times please email the class teacher to arrange for alternate collection. If you have more than 1 child in school you will need to select a time and let both teachers know so the books and bags can be ready.
This will also be an opportunity for children to say goodbye to their class teacher.
Please come on to the site from The Avenue entrance and you will be asked to leave via Mary Street.

End of the school year
Tue 30 Jun 2020This year will be very different, and many of the 'normal' traditions will not be able to take place. Miss Dyer is working on how Year 6 will be able to celebrate, both before the holidays and after. Further information about this will be sent out when things are finalised.
Many parents will want to say thank you in different ways to the staff who have helped their child(ren) this year. Staff do not expect gifts so please do not feel that you need to buy anything, a small hand made card or gift will be lovely. If you are wanting to send gifts in these will either need to be brought in by the children or taken to the main entrance where a member of staff will accept them. The staff are looking at putting together a collection of donations for a stroke related charity, which has supported Mrs Pennell during her rehabilitation. If you would like to make a contribution or donation please put this in a sealed envelope and label it donation.
Please remember we do not expect anything but a thank you card or email would be appreciated.

Key worker groups
Wed 17 Jun 2020Wednesday 17th June
We no longer have spaces in our 'flexible' key worker group on Monday and Wednesday. If you think you will need a space you will need to contact the school asap, but you will not be able to have either of these days, unless your child attends Monday-Thursday. Please call the school office and ask to speak to Mrs Frost for further information.

Time slots
Tue 09 Jun 2020Tuesday 9th June
Please can I remind all parents that time slots have been given for the reason of minimising contact between parents and children coming in to school. Please do not arrive early and only in the time slots allocated. Children will be requested to wait on the pavement if they arrive early. If you are unsure of your allocated time slot please ask.
