This year we are very excited to be able to welcome Buddy and his owner Sue to our school. Buddy is a PAT (pets as therapy) dog, he is a chocolate labrador and he is extremely friendly, good-natured and happy dog who adores humans of all sizes.
Buddy will be working with some of our children in school on their reading encouraging them to feel more confident with their fluency and strategies when they come across a word they don't know. Sue might even ask them a few questions to support with their comprehension.
The children are asked to read from their reading book which has been allocated by their class teacher and the session is discussed between Sue and Mrs Cahill. Mrs Hiscox is also present during the session to aid with needs that occur during the reading time.
