• Uniform

  All children should be wearing school uniform to school.  If there is an issue with the school uniform e.g. it is too small or you are unable to wash it over night home clothes are permitted but this should be agreed with either the class teacher or Head before attending.

  Please ensure all clothes and children are washed daily to ensure any germs are cleaned away.

  Thank you so much to all of the families who have started back to school and are following the new timings for drop off and collection.  It is very confusing, especially if you have more than 1 child and they are in different groups.  Can you please make sure you let school know which time slot you will be collecting children so we are aware that some children may be staying later for collection.  As these children have been with other children and adults they need to be placed in a safe space away from others.

  Please ensure children come to school with coats as we are being guided to be outside as much as possible.  We will aim to do this even if the weather isn't that great so coats will be essential.

• Parking

  Please remember when dropping off and collecting children from school park sensibly, avoiding drives and no parking zones.  While waiting please turn off engines to limit noise and air pollution.

  Don’t forget only arrive during the designated time slot for your child to limit the amount of people hanging around.

  Please do not bring your child to school unless you have received information regarding dropping off and collecting.  If you have not let the school know your child is returning we will not have prepared a place for them.  If you require a space this will need to be done through the school office, which will open again on Monday 1st June.  A weeks notice must be given before a child can start.

  If your child is coming to school on Monday 1st June, or the w/b 1st June, please ensure you follow the timings provided and you ensure social distancing at all times when around the school building.

  Reopening questions

  Will my child need to wear uniform?

  We will be asking for children to return in their school uniform but we will be mindful that some children will have grown and so we will not expect you to buy new uniform.  Uniform MUST be washed regularly to minimise the risk of infection from germ carrying.

   

  How will you maintain social distancing?

  Great question!  As far as is possible children will remain 2 meters apart.  Children may come in to contact with each other during the day but staff will ensure thorough hand washing when this happens.

   

  Will my child need to wear PPE?

  Government guidance suggests that PPE is not needed in schools, but if you want your child to wear it you can supply it.  Staff will have access to PPE if needed and face shields, masks, aprons and gloves will be available in the first aid room if a child or member of staff is showing symptoms.

   

  Will my child be in a smaller class?

  We will aim to split the classes in to smaller groups of no more than 15.  Each group will, hopefully, have 2 members of staff.

   

  Will my child change groups?

  No, children will always remain with the same children and will not mix with anyone else in the school.  

   

  I have a child in one of the classes and another in a class not coming back, what should I do?

  If you are a key worker then your other child can join the key worker child care group.  As this is a group with various ages the focus in not on academic work but more on completion of home learning and emotional work.

   

  Will classes be focusing on academics?

  Yes there will be a focus on new teaching but there will also be a lot of work around building relationships and emotional well-being.

   

  Will my child be able to attend early arrivals and after school club?

  As children are not allowed to mix with other groups of children we have had to make the decision that only children in the key worker class will be able to attend early arrivals.  There will be no after school provision until we are able to mix children more freely.

   

  I don't know what to do, can you make the decision for me?

  No, sorry.  I would not be opening the school to more children if I didn't think it was safe for all involved.  I can not guaranty that we will be 'germ free' but we will do everything we are guided to to minimise risk for all.

   

  Who will monitor the safety of everyone in the school?

  I will be completing numerous risk assessments which will follow the Government guidance.  These risk assessments will be monitored by the Governing Body, who will make the ultimate decision about whether we will reopen or not.  These risk assessments will be updated regularly to ensure we are up to date with the latest Government guidance.

• Schools reopening update

  Good evening everyone.  Things have become a bit clearer today with the release of the guidance.  I can assure you all that we will not be doing anything unless it is safe for the children, families, staff and their families.

  Within the guidance for schools it states: 

  "Now that we have made progress in reducing the transmission of coronavirus we are encouraging all eligible children to attend - it is no longer necessary for parents of eligible children to keep them at home if they can."  If you believe your child could be in school e.g. a parent is a key worker or your family is vulnerable please contact school to secure a place.  We will need to monitor amounts of children to ensure we can staff this adequately.

  Over the next week I will be risk assessing for reopening and I will let you know what will be happening as soon as I can.  Please continue to complete home learning as best you can, but really focus on emotional well-being, we will be continuing this focus when we do reopen the school.

• School reopening

  After the announcement tonight I would appreciate it if all Parents/Carers give us some time to work out what we are now to do.  I will be sending an email tomorrow asking for some information from you, please keep a look for this and reply as soon as you can.

  I am hoping for further guidance and information over the next few days and as soon as we know more we will be in touch regarding how we as a school will move forward.

• UPDATE

  Good morning to you all.

  Thank you to everyone who has sent lovely messages, goodies/treats, hand gels etc.  You are being very kind and thoughtful.  We have plenty of hand gel at the moment, so make sure you have all you need.

  The children and staff are being amazing.  At times it is difficult because school is so different without the 'normal' routines and amount of people, today we only have 3 children.

  We will be opening next week, but due to lack of demand we are closing on Friday and Monday.  We will be completing lots of Easter activities, keep a watch on the Facebook page for regular updates.

• Easter Holidays

  Following guidance from the Government and the LA we will remain open over the Easter Holidays for the pupils who have been accessing the school since the closure.  Only children who have been attending school for the last 2 weeks should be attending and Parents must tell school which days they require before coming.  School will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday as a sign off respect to the Catholic Church.
