Just stumbled across this...isn't it fun?
Happy New Year! :)
Here is a prayer for us as we start this new term...
Here are two Christmas songs for you to listen to. One is in Malaylam and one in Polish. We will be learning parts of them as a whole school. Enjoy! :)
Have a look at this.... :)
Here is a fun little song to take us into half term. I am sure you will be singing along by the end :)
Have a look at this musical timeline to start getting an idea about the history of music. Why don't you try choosing a piece of music to listen to from one of the composers in each time period and compare them. How do the styles, instruments and sounds change over time?

Welcome back to a new school year! Hope you all had a lovely summer break.
It is with great sadness that we have lost our wonderful Queen and I want to pay tribute to her many faithful years of service to our country. We welcome King Charles III. Here is the new National Anthem and a beautiful snap shot of her incredible life put to music. I vow to thee my country was written by Gustav Holst (It is part of Jupiter from the Planet Suite.)

So summer is upon us and it won't be long till the end of term.
A massive well done to all those children who performed in the rec last Sunday. Listening back I can safely say you did the school proud! :) Hope you all enjoyed the event.
This term Year 1 have been learning songs about different types of transport and Year 2 have been learning how to play Little Green Frog on chime bars.
Year 3 have been the first in the school to learn our brand new ocarinas and we look forward to their rendition of Twinkle Twinkle in their class assembly.
Year 4 have been enjoying learning a bit more ukulele as they missed out during Covid in the Autumn term.
Year 5 have been learning how to play Brahms lullaby on glockenspiels and sing Squelch! (a firm favourite!)
Year 6 have been composing in groups and working on a class song (Raise my voice) which they will be performing in the leavers service.
Rock Academy have also reassembled this term to work on a couple of pieces for an assembly next week.
I would also like to mention my Year 6 piano pupils who will be leaving this term. Julia, Abiona, Trisha and Nathan. Well done for your commitment to learning and practising an instrument and keep on playing if you can! :)
Hope you all have a lovely summer holiday when we get there. God bless and stay safe :)

I am so sorry not to be finishing the term with you all (except Year 2!) I shall miss our Christmas lessons. Always such a lovely time of year for songs and carols. Have a listen to these ones to get you in the festive mood. O come all ye faithful with a modern little twist at the end and Mary did you know by the Pentatonix. The harmonies in this are awesome! Enjoy! :)
If I don't see you again in school this term I wish you and your families all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Maybe you can find some things around the house to make some music. Let me know how you get on.
Happy New Year to you all! :)
Have a look at the link below which shows a band of 1400 musicians from 35 different countries coming together in beautiful harmony in this Song of Hope. It is so inspiring to watch and I hope you enjoy it. See how many different instruments you can recognise.

Remember to click on your year groups for music to do. I have put a few follow up activities from last half term's music lessons for you. Hope you all have a lovely half term and enjoy going for some fun Autumn walks!
This is one of my favourite autumn songs. Enjoy the velvety voice of Nat King Cole and the beautiful colours of this clip.
Here is a beautiful song that I want to share with you all. It's called The Blessing and the words are a promise taken from the bible. This version sung by children is particularly lovely and this is my prayer to you all over this difficult time. I hope it speaks to you heart. Make sure you share it with your adults. God bless you all.
