Year 4

Some parents have asked what their children need to include in their writing to reach age related expectations in year 4.

I have attached a checklist below to show the key skills children are working towards. Please bare in mind that we have not yet covered everything on this list; it reflects the expectations by the end of the year.

You can support your child at home by:

  • Encouraging them to write regularly (stories, diaries, letters or notes)
  • Reading together and talking about new, interesting words.
  • Helping them to check their writing for full stops, capital letters and spelling.
  • Praising their effort and creativity to build confidence and enjoyment!

Thank you :)

Thank you to all parents and carers for your support this half term. The children have been amazing and deserve a fun and restful week off!

We have been working on our column addition and subtraction this half term and the children have two worksheets to complete for homework.

We have now finished learning our 2, 3 and 5 times table and will not have a lot of time to go over this ahead of their multiplication check. Could you please go over these at home and make sure they are secure. We will be moving onto our 4 times tables after half term.

Have a lovely week, i look forward to welcoming the children back! :)

In RE this week, Year 4 explored how we can live out the virtues of ✝️ faith, 🌈 hope, and ❤️ love in our school.
