  • Bad weather

    Wed 30 Jan 2019

I hope you have all read the emergency closure information.  With a yellow weather warning for tomorrow afternoon I have made the decision to cancel after school clubs.  I will talk to Anna-Marie tomorrow but I will expect Little Saints will be closed as well.  Please make other arrangements for all children to be collected at the end of the school day.

We will monitor the forecast for Friday but we may need to postpone the school disco due to the forecast for frozen conditions.

Please understand that these decisions are made with safety in mind.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Mrs Frost

  • Incident on The Avenue

    Tue 29 Jan 2019

It has been brought to my attention that there was another near miss this morning involving one of our pupils.  I am responsible for the safety of all pupils on the school grounds but due to the proximity of this incident I have become involved.

Children have the right to get to school in safety and to not be put at risk by adults irresponsible parking and driving.  The only way I can see to minimise the risk to our pupils is to close the Marion Hall car park to all cars between certain times of the day.  Please let me know your thoughts on this.  If I don't get any responses I will talk with Father Jean-Patrice on his return from India and get permission to lock the car park.

Please respond either via email to the school office or on a reflection form which can be found with the after-school club letters.

  • Weather forecast

    Mon 28 Jan 2019

With the threat of sleet and snow I have updated the emergency closure information, this is in the Head's letters section of the website.

We will only make the decision to close the school if weather conditions deteriorate significantly and travelling becomes dangerous for staff and families.  As far as we can, we will ensure the school remains open.  Many of our staff travel significant distances to school and I will not force anyone to travel in dangerous conditions.

Please ensure you read the letter as this will explain where you will be able to find information about closures, the main place being this website.  If we decide to close the school during the school this will be due to safety concerns for pupils, parents and staff.  If you think this may happen please make sure you keep communication lines with school open.  Last time we had to close this was done through an email and updates on the website and local radio stations.  We are currently unable to send around text messages.  If you think this might happen please call the school to check.

  • Bad weather

    Wed 23 Jan 2019

Thank you so much to all of the families who were really sensible this morning when parking and walking the children in to school.  The conditions were not good and we managed to get all of the children in to school safely with only minimal bumps.

Just a quick reminder... the Marion Hall is not a place for general parking.  It is only to be used by staff and parishioners.  I will be talking with the Parish about how we can make this arrangement safer for staff, parents and children but until you hear more, the car park is not to be used by everyone for parking.  Please ensure if you are parking here you are considerate to others and remember that intimidation of any kind will not be tolerated and will be reported to the police.

  • Communication Questionnaire

    Wed 23 Jan 2019

Please complete the communication questionnaire which is in the Foyer area with the after-school club forms.  I am looking for ways to improve the communication between home and school and school and home.

    Thanks in advance

    Mrs Frost
